Some time ago I took a bunch of pictures for a craft project that I didn’t end up using and, to be entirely honest, I don’t want them to go to waste so I thought it might be nice to share them periodically on here. I don’t claim to be a professional when it comes to photography so please excuse the quality of these photos.
History holds a very special place in my heart and here in Kansas City it’s never in short supply. The following pictures were taken just outside Kansas City in Independence, where President Harry Truman and his wife are buried. President Truman lived in Independence for several years and worked in the building where Clinton’s Soda Fountain (pictured below) has been in business since 1908. Additionally, the Church of Jesus Christ Of Ladder Day Saints believes that the Garden of Eden existed in Independence. Presently, Independence is host to many of the LDS/RLDS/FLDS visitors centers, the Truman Memorial, and an annual event called Santi-Cali-Gon days.
