Water, Water, Water! (Revolt Week 4)

Water

As you know, I’ve been participating in a health and wellness program called Revolt Fitness for the last four weeks. I will be the first to tell you that I did not stick to the diet this week. I am a little embarrassed. I have no excuses. The only takeaway from mishap this week is this: Nichole says that preparation is the key to success and she is absolutely right. Not having meals prepared ahead of time led to a lot of eating out and even though I still ate a relatively healthy diet, it was most definitely not the clean eating I’ve become accustomed to (and have grown to love) on Revolt. I don’t want to talk about how much I sucked this week (because, let’s be honest, neither of us wants that). Instead, I want to talk about one of my biggest struggles: Drinking enough water.

While doing the workouts associated with Revolt, we’re encouraged to drink at least a gallon of water a day. A day. I, like many of you I’m sure, find it really hard to get in enough. When I do, I’m constantly losing track of how much I’ve actually had. I wanted to share a few fast facts on why water is such a vital part of our overall health. According to this article on WebMD water maintains the fluid balance in your body, controls your calorie intake (by helping you feel more full), gives your muscles energy, promotes clear skin, keeps your kidneys healthy, and helps your bowels (yup, you read that right). I would encourage you all to actually read that article (it’ll make me feel slightly better about using their information if you do).

Just for kicks, I calculated how much liquid I drank today. 8oz of water, 56oz unsweet tea, 80z sweet tea, and 12oz of Diet Coke. If I can drink 84 ounces of liquid in one day, surely I can drink a gallon of water. Right?! So I’m making that my wellness goal for the week: drink enough water.

Also on my goal list: Follow diet and fitness plan for the week.

No slip ups. No excuses.

Disclaimer: I am participating in the Revolt Now Fitness Program for twelve weeks for free in exchange for my weekly review of their program. I am under no obligation to write a positive review and the expressed thoughts are uniquely my own. Please feel free to contact me at ItsAnOrdinaryBlog@gmail.com with any questions.

Surprisingly, the water is the easiest part of the program for me! I really struggle with eating on the schedule… it’s hard for me to remember to eat, and then all of a sudden I’m miserable and starving.
