Zaggora Hot Pants: Review & Giveaway

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know that I’m on a quest towards better health (more specifically, I want to learn how to run). With this goal in mind, I’ve been on the hunt for great resources that are aimed to improve the quality of my workouts. Fast forward to the day when I ran across Zaggora. Oh, you’ve never heard of them?! Here’s a link (for you to look at after you’re done with this post, of course). Not only are their clothes aimed at helping you make the most of your workout but they’re also pretty cute. You just can’t beat that, am I right?! In the spirit of full disclosure, I should mention that my friends over at Zaggora (Hi, Dinah!) sent me a pair of their hot pant capris free of charge in exchange for my review. I am under absolutely no obligation to write a positive review and my expressed thoughts are uniquely my own. Please feel free to email me anytime (itsanordinaryblog@gmail.com) with questions. All that said, who’s ready for a review and giveaway?! Let’s go!

I first heard about Zaggora while searching for running pants online. What attracted me to their brand, in particular, is the promise to make a workout pant that helps you maximize calorie burn while you’re wearing them (who doesn’t love that?!). You might be wondering what that means (or how that’s even possible). Essentially, Zaggora has patent pending “Celu-Lite Technology™” which is a multi-layer fabric that promises to harness the body’s natural heat during your workout to help you burn more calories (and, in turn, lose more weight). Sounds fantastic, right?!

I was elated when I heard that Zaggora was going to send me a pair of Hot Pant Capri 2.0 to try and review. So much so that I literally did a happy dance in the middle of the living room (my two year old daughter LOVED it). They ship from the UK so you should expect them to arrive within a few weeks. My first pair were somehow lost in translation (and ended up on my doorstep last week) so Dinah sent out a second pair that arrived within a week of when she sent them. When I notified Zaggora that the second pair had come out of hiding were in my hands, they gave me the go ahead to do a giveaway with them (more on that in a minute). So if you’re in the market for a size XL pair of hot pants, get excited!

My initial reaction to the pants was great. They’re comfortable and they’re cute pants. The ONLY negative (and this could totally be turned into a positive if you happen to be a fan of the show “Seinfeld”. When I walk in the pants they make a light “swhooshing” sound much like George Costanza in this clip:

Now if you don’t have thunder thighs like I do (you’ll see the picture in a second if you don’t know what I mean) you may not have the problem but, if you do, take heed. I learned that if I walk with a longer stride (read: legs further apart) they don’t make the sound and I’ve come to discover that’s an adjustment I don’t really mind all that much in a workout (you should have longer strides if you’re running anyway). The pant itself feels like it’s made out of the same material as a wetsuit but I actually enjoyed it. There was a noticeable difference working out in regular pants as opposed to wearing the hot pants doing the same activity. I noticed that I sweat a whole lot more wearing them as opposed to the alternative.

Their sizing is pretty accurate. I’m wearing a size XL in the Zaggora pants and, while they’re a little on the snug side (they’re supposed to be form fitting) they are comfortable to wear.

(I should mention this is a stock photo. My body doesn’t look nearly as good at this one in the pants :)).

Now for the fun part…I have an extra pair of Zaggora hot pants, in a size XL, that are up for grabs. According to Zaggora’s website, this size should fit an individual who wears either a 16 or a size 18 in US Women’s Clothing. That said, if you want in on the action, simply follow these two steps:

1. Leave a comment on THIS blog post letting me know what your favorite physical activity is and how you could benefit from wearing the hot pants while you work out.

2. Head on over to my Facebook page (make sure you “like” it) and leave me a note on the timeline. Be sure to mention that you want in on the Zaggora giveaway.

A winner from all of the entries (you get one for each of the two steps mentioned above) will be randomly selected on Friday August 16th, 2013. May the odds be ever in your favor!

I am a college student so my favorite activity is walking to and from class 😀 but seriously, I try to find time between lectures to go for a long walk around campus or at the park to get some fresh air. I’m not in shape yet to actually start running or doing other vigorous sports so I’d love a pair of Zaggoras to help me get there.

Been wanting a pair to help me lose the weight I gained from when I was sick and put on steroids. They’d be great to wear during Zumba!

I’m training for my first 5k; these would come in very handy! I wouldn’t say running is my favorite activity but it pushes me. 😉 Thanks for the opportunity!
